| How to change the Site Identification Phrase in the RFC-1/B
The RFC-1/B identifies itself when it answers the telephone or places a call to alert personnel of an alarm condition. The phrase that the RFC-1/B delivers is programmable so that sites can be uniquely identifed. When shipped from the factory it is programmed with the phrase "This is RFC-1/B".
The Site ID Phrase can be programmed with any combination of words, letters or numbers from the table. There are two special conditions involving only word 6, the final word in the phrase.
The programming address table in Appendix A provides a list of all the memory address and their functions. The Site ID phrases occupies addresses 0984-0995 in the table. Programming instructions are located either in Section 6 of the Installation and Operation manual or in Note 3 of Section 12 in the Software Instruction Book (for earlier systems). To simplify the programming task, the form on this page can generate appropriate values for programming and generate programming instructions.
Enter the requested information in the areas below . The values and adresses will be calculated and displayed at the bottom of the form. Information should update automatically but some browsers will require you to press Tab or Enter to generate a response. This page requires a JavaScript cablable browser.
It is extremely important to press * and exit programming mode as soon as the final value is entered. The memory address just after the Site ID Phrase (0996) controls a hardware setting that will cause the RFC-1 to seize the telephone line indefinately when programmed incorrectly. Here are the instructions to correct this problem.
